Meet our talented graphic designer Carolyn Lang, a Kansan through and through and a proud Kansas State University alumna! With a BFA in Graphic Design under her belt, she’s got the creative chops to take on any design project with passion and gusto.

Before joining the GTP team, she spent years as the Group Art Director for a number of national publications in the magazine publishing industry. But her love for design doesn’t stop at work – she’s always tinkering away at various creative projects in her free time.

When she’s not flexing her design muscles, you can find her enjoying the simple pleasures of small-town life with her husband, Mike, and their furry and feathered family members. She loves staying active with walks and yoga classes, and you might even catch her trying her hand at a new craft or two.

What's the most interesting thing you've learned about the local economy since joining the organization?
Just how many members of our community are actively working to improve and grow our local economy.
What's one small change that an individual or family can make to contribute to the local economy's growth?
Choosing to shop locally when they can and getting the word out about what these small businesses have to offer.
What's your go-to recommendation for a fun, affordable activity or event in the local area that also supports the local economy?
I would definitely recommend local sporting events. This area has some amazing student-athletes and sports venues. Every season there’s some type of competition to catch.

Carolyn worked her way through college as a seasonal Park Ranger for the Corp of Engineers at a local reservoir.

Lake Shawnee

Carolyn’s love for nature and the outdoors is evident in her frequent walks around the beautiful Lake Shawnee. She finds peace in the calming waters and refreshing breeze, taking in the stunning scenery and wildlife around her. Her favorite time to walk is during the spring when the colorful tulips bloom and the air is filled with their sweet fragrance. She believes that everyone should take time to appreciate the beauty of nature and do their part to keep it thriving for generations to come.
