Angel Lang is an Executive Coordinator for the Resource Development team at the Greater Topeka Partnership. With her role, Angel is the master of juggling many administrative tasks to ensure the team operates seamlessly. This includes managing new member commercials and ribbon cuttings, coordinating her supervisor’s schedule, and providing support and positivity to the team. Angel also plays a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with members, managing member data, and addressing member inquiries. Beyond these tasks, Angel also supports Leadership Greater Topeka, Executive Immersion Services, and Momentum 2027, the community’s five-year strategy.

Before joining the Partnership, Angel spent seven years in the retail industry, with two and a half of those years as a Store Manager for a plus size clothing store. Her experience in retail has given her a sharp eye for detail and a strong ability to multitask, which are indispensable skills in her current role. Angel is also known for her customer service skills, staying calm under pressure, and greeting everyone with a warm smile. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and make sure everyone is taken care of.

Outside of work, Angel is an enthusiastic artist who enjoys creating various art pieces in her free time. Her love for geode-style pieces made with canvas, crushed glass, and resin is especially noteworthy. Angel also spends quality time with her family, and she has a soft spot for playing video games with her partner, Nathan, and friends. Angel is an animal lover at heart, and her favorite pet is her cat, Willa. She also has a passion for music and can be found listening to a wide variety of genres in her free time. You might even catch her watching planes take off and land at the airport or attending a local concert.

What's one small change that an individual or family can make to contribute to the local economy's growth?
I think a small change if people don’t do it already, is really making an effort to seek out local businesses and attractions when looking for places to go or things to do. There are so many cool things in Topeka, sometimes you just have to seek them out!
What inspired you to work in the field of community economic development?
I’ve lived in Topeka all my life, and I have seen the massive growth and improvements that our city has experienced in recent years. I really wanted to be apart of that growth, and I wanted a job that was meaningful and impactful. I feel honored to play a part in our community’s development!
What are some of the biggest challenges you've faced while working to improve the local economy, and how have you overcome them?
I feel that the biggest challenge is the negativity… there will always be individuals who don’t want change or don’t want to see the community thrive, or really just have a lot of negative things to say about it. As cliché as it sounds, I just try to remember that there is way more positive things happening in our community than negative, and there is so much to be proud of.

Despite Angel's bubbly and pink aesthetic, she has a surprising taste in music. While she enjoys pop and upbeat tunes, she also has a soft spot for metal and post-hardcore.

Helping Hands Humane Society

Angel has a soft spot for animals, and Helping Hands Humane Society, the pet adoption center in Topeka, is one of her favorite places to visit. She loves spending time with the staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly to help homeless pets find loving forever homes. Angel is always eager to support their cause, whether it’s by attending their events or donating her artwork to their auctions. She believes that every pet deserves a happy and healthy life, and Helping Hands does an amazing job of caring for them while they wait for their forever families.
