Matt Pivarnik, the CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership, is a man of many hats! He heads up the Partnership, which houses a number of important organizations that help build and support the community. With a passion for economic development and a wealth of experience, Matt is the perfect person for the job.
But Matt’s involvement in the community doesn’t stop there! He’s been a part of a number of organizations, serving in leadership roles and providing guidance and support. From his work with the Chamber of Commerce to his current position as chair for the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Team Kansas, Matt has played an important role in shaping the community and helping it grow.
And when he’s not busy with work or community involvement, Matt loves spending time with his family. He’s a proud Papa to two granddaughters and a grandson on the way, and his son Chase is serving our country as a Marine. His son Trey is attending Washburn University where he plays football, and his wife Wendy is by his side every step of the way.
With a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, Matt is well-equipped to handle the many challenges of his role. And with his passion for building a strong, vibrant community, there’s no doubt that Topeka is in good hands!
If you could magically improve one aspect of the local economy overnight, what would it be and why?
Increase prosperity, decrease poverty, increase population, increase net promoter score, increase GDP…. – I know….that isn’t just one.
What's one small change that an individual or family can make to contribute to the local economy's growth?
How does your role contribute to the organization's efforts to improve the local economy?
Matt has many passions, but being a PaPa (grandpa) is #1!
DID YOU KNOW?
Yager Stadium
Washburn University is one of the heartbeats of Topeka and Matt certainly agrees so! As a proud father whose son plays football for the Ichabods, he loves spending his Saturdays at Yager Stadium, cheering his son and the team on to victory. Matt believes that Washburn University is a key player in the success stories of the community, as many individuals start their journeys toward greatness at this institution.
