Elle is a force to be reckoned with! Born in Sumter, South Carolina to military parents, she’s lived all over the United States and even Germany. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University, she proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Her professional career spans over 15 years in the Federal Government as an IRS Officer and three years in state employment as an Administrative Compliance Officer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Elle’s always on the go, as she serves as Executive Coordinator to the CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership and GO Topeka, but she still finds time for her passions. She’s a certified yoga instructor who enjoys practicing yoga and meditation, reading African American nonfiction books, and belting out her favorite tunes at karaoke.

Elle isn't just a proud mother of three amazing kids, aged 29, 26, and 15. Elle has another passion in life: houseplants. With over 20 and counting, her living room is slowly but surely transforming into a lush green indoor jungle, and she couldn't be happier. She spends her free time taking care of her plant babies, and her green thumb is the envy of all her friends.
Lake Shawnee
Elle finds solace in nature and enjoys spending time at the picturesque Lake Shawnee, one of Topeka’s most popular destinations. Whether it’s a brisk walk along the paved trails or a yoga session on the shores of the lake, Elle feels rejuvenated by the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings. She believes that being surrounded by nature helps her to clear her mind and find a sense of peace amidst the busyness of life. For her, it’s not just a physical activity, but also a form of meditation that allows her to connect with her inner self and recharge her batteries. Elle looks forward to her regular walks and yoga sessions at Lake Shawnee as a way to stay healthy and centered.
