Greater Topeka Partnership to host 2021 State of Community event on November 9 at Townsite Avenue Ballroom; speakers include Commissioner Cook and Mayor De La Isla.

The 2021 State of Community, organized by Greater Topeka Partnership, will include presentations from Topeka Mayor Michelle De La Isla and Shawnee County Commissioner Kevin Cook; these will highlight past successes in the community as well as a focus on future goals. Programming also includes a housing market panel hosted by local experts. This event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 9 at 7:45 a.m. at Townsite Avenue Ballroom.

“The State of Community event truly is an experience that brings so many people that love our city and county together,” said Mayor Michelle De La Isla. “This event will be especially meaningful to me as we pass the torch to a new mayor. I am looking forward to using this time to reflect on our successes over the past four years and share my hopes for the future of our community.”

“I’m looking forward to the State of the Community; I find the format to be a great opportunity to give an update of what our community is trying to accomplish and effectively has accomplished together,” said Commissioner Kevin Cook. “The state of our community truly is stronger than ever, and I encourage anyone who is able to join us.”

“The State of the Community is one of Topeka & Shawnee County’s signature events that, while bridging the gap between elected leaders and the people whom they serve, provides perspective on what we’ve encountered and accomplished as well as what we have to look forward to as a community,” said Matt Pivarnik, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership.
