On Thursday, November 6, hundreds of community members will gather at the Townsite Avenue Ballroom for the annual State of the Community event. This morning of inspiration, connection, and celebration shines a spotlight on the progress unfolding across Topeka and Shawnee County. The event brings together local leaders and changemakers to share updates and spark meaningful conversations about the future.

Doors open at 7:45 A.M. for breakfast and networking, followed by a dynamic program beginning at 8:15 A.M. featuring remarks from Mayor Mike Padilla, Shawnee County Commission Chair Aaron Mays, and other civic leaders.

“This event is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together,” said Molly Howey, CEO of the Greater Topeka Partnership. “Topeka is rising, and the energy in our community is undeniable. We’re proud to share that story with the people who make it possible.”

“The State of the Community is more than just an update; it’s a celebration,” said Shawnee County Commissioner Aaron Mays. “We’ve made incredible strides in infrastructure, economic development, and quality of life. I’m excited to share how Shawnee County continues to grow stronger every day.”

“Topeka is a city of resilience, innovation, and heart,” said Mayor Mike Padilla. “This event gives us the chance to reflect on our shared journey and inspire one another to keep pushing forward. I look forward to connecting with our community and celebrating the progress we’ve made together.”
