The Greater Topeka
a voice for business
The Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce speaks on behalf of over 1,000 business members at the local, state and federal levels of government.
We mobilize the community to speak with a highly influential voice in support of public policies that create economic success, so that some day Topeka & Shawnee County has a global reputation as a community, which is vibrant, innovative, fun, diverse and healthy, in part because its public policies enable it to flourish.
The Chamber makes its voice heard in a number of ways. The Chamber president is a registered lobbyist who engages extensively with members of the Shawnee County legislative delegation. Chamber staff also maintain ongoing relationships and clear lines of communication with local elected officials, as well as our representatives in Washington D.C.
Perhaps most importantly, the Chamber creates opportunities for local businesses to present their views on important issues to their elected officials. These include, forums, our Legislative Leaders series, targeted meetings with federal officials in Washington D.C. and one-on-one appointments.
