The Topeka Area Sports Commission (TASC) is excited to announce its second-annual TASC Mini Golf Tournament benefiting TASC Cares.
Launched in 2023, TASC Cares aims to foster equity in the community’s youth sports by providing micro-grants to local kids ages 8-18 who face financial barriers, ensuring they have the opportunities to participate in organized sports and reap the benefits of such engagement. These micro-grants can cover registration fees, equipment purchases, and other essential expenses related to athletic competition, opening doors for aspiring athletes across Shawnee County.
“Inclusivity is at the heart of TASC Cares,” said TASC Director Mike Bell. “We’re committed to breaking down financial barriers and leveling the playing field for young athletes in the Topeka area. Every child deserves the chance to experience the transformative power of sports.”
The second-annual TASC Cares fundraising event, the TASC Mini Golf Tournament, is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Topeka’s Sports Center, 6545 S.W. 10th Ave. The event promises a day of fun and community spirit, friendly competition, food trucks and refreshing beverages. Proceeds from the tournament will directly support TASC Cares initiatives.
“We invite everyone to join us for this year’s TASC Cares Mini Golf Tournament,” Bell said. “Your participation not only guarantees a fantastic time but also contributes directly to empowering youth in our community to engage in sports and enjoy their lifelong benefits.”
Tickets for the tournament can be purchased HERE, or by visiting the events page at TopekaPartnership.com.
