What is the Leadership Greater Topeka Gala?
Each year, the Leadership Greater Topeka Graduation & Gala celebrates our newest graduates and honors alumni who have made lasting contributions to our community. Founded in 1984, Leadership Greater Topeka (LGT) has empowered over 1,200 leaders to take action and create positive change in Topeka and Shawnee County.
In 2024, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of this prestigious program by honoring outstanding alumni through our annual awards and welcoming the latest class of graduates.
Award Categories
Each year, we recognize individuals whose leadership has had a profound impact on the community through the following awards:
Rising Star Award
This award celebrates two emerging leaders who have demonstrated passion and dedication in their work, lifting up those around them. These individuals show immense promise and will continue to be valuable assets to our community.
Activator Award
Awarded to two individuals who actively help others discover their leadership potential. These leaders have been engaged in the community for years, using their skills to drive progress and transformation.
Marsha Sheahan Legacy Award
Named after the long-serving vice president of public relations for the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce, this award is given to a leader who has demonstrated unwavering leadership throughout their career, leaving a lasting legacy in Topeka and Shawnee County.
