GO Topeka is excited to announce registration is open and speakers have been secured for the highly anticipated 2024 Economic Outlook Conference, presented by Capitol Federal Bank and hosted by the Washburn University School of Business. This annual event is set to take place Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 a.m. in Washburn University’s Memorial Union, room A/B. The event is an opportunity to hear from local, state and federal experts about the health of our local, regional, and national economies.
This year, the Economic Outlook Conference is pleased to feature Joseph Gruber, Executive Vice President and Director of Research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, as its keynote speaker. Gruber will provide in-depth analysis of both the status and outlook of the U.S. economy. In addition, Dr. Paul Byrne, professor of economics at Washburn University, will offer his expert perspective on economic trends affecting Shawnee County, and Adam Proffitt, Kansas Secretary of Administration and Director of the Budget, will share insights into the health and forecast of the Kansas economy.
“We are thrilled to bring together such a distinguished group of speakers for this year’s conference,” said Bob Ross, senior vice president of marketing, communications and events for GO Topeka and the Greater Topeka Partnership. “The insights and expertise we’ll hear from these experts are going to be instrumental in helping our community and business leaders navigate the economic landscape and opportunities ahead.”
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to engage with and ask questions of the speakers, to gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing economic conditions in our region and beyond.
