Summer Reading and Experience Program Curiosity Central
Enjoy an action-packed summer at the Topeka Library at more than 300 events! To take part in Curiosity Central you need to complete 12 hours of reading and 12 experiences by August 20th. If you aren’t sure where to start, the library provides examples of things to do with kids, teens and adults. Experiences include going to library events, learning a new skill from Lynda.com, and attending a poetry or story slam. You can enter your activity online for a chance to win a kindle fire, books or a family pass to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center.
How to Sign Up
Go to the Topeka Library’s website and scroll to the middle of the page until you see the buttons under Sign Up for “Login” and “Register”, then click on the “Register Button.” You’ll get directed to select who you want to register and general information about the participant. Once you’re done you can start logging your activity and hours.
In the News
In the first six days of the program, more than 12,000 people signed up and recorded over 57,000 minutes of reading time. See Melissa Brunner’s full interview with Diana Friend here.
